All About Pasta Camp!
June 11, 2019

For NYC public school students, June 11 is a day off so we're opening our doors and teaching a workshop that's all about pasta, from homemade dough techniques to learning a handful of trattoria-quality sauces you can make at home. After a morning of cooking, we’ll enjoy the fruits of our labor with a big salad for lunch, then we’ll head to the park for some outdoor time and picnic snacks.

Note: Students enrolled in our afterschool Make & Take Program will return to the shop after our outdoor time and participate in our regular programming.

9am-2:30pm ($150)
Early drop-off at 8am ($20)

Cake Camp!
June 4, 2019

We want you to make your cake and eat it, too! When school is out, we’re open. For NYC public school’s June 4 day off we’re devoting the entire day to mastering all things cake-related: we’ll learn about the art and architecture of our favorite dessert; bake a buttermilk rainbow cake in our Dynamite or custom colors; make buttercream frosting and learn dozens of stunning decorating tricks, from making a smooth frosting to piping pretty rosettes and doing advanced sugarwork with rolled fondant and dripped icing. We’ll practice on cupcakes that we’ll eat for a snack and then design and decorate our dream cakes to bring home. A delicious and healthy lunch (not cake!) provided.

9am-2:30pm ($150)
Extended day until 6pm, with additional cooking ($60)
Early drop-off at 8am ($20)

Picnic in the Park Camp!
June 6, 2019

School’s OUT and so are WE… on a picnic! We’ll spend the morning learning about classic picnic foods then prepare a great outdoors feast to enjoy in Prospect Park (rain plan: we’ll set up the gingham blankets at The Dynamite Shop!) Just in time for picnic season, we’ll learn delicious, easy-to-transport and fun fair weather food (each with great cooking lessons baked in) that will have kids making al fresco meals all summer long. On the menu is Muffuletta (New Orleans's signature, wrapped and pressed sandwich); a classic picnic salad; gazpacho; flavored sun teas; and for dessert, fruit-filled hand pies. We’ll finish the afternoon with lawn games, from croquet to badminton. Cross your fingers for sunshine!
